Taking water from the well and having goats and hens for pets.
To me, my dad lives on a farm in the middle of the country in France. He has no neighbours to the north, east, south or west. The nearest town centre is a 45 minute drive and yes we do have pet goats and chickens. That is what it means to me. The road in which he lives you get maybe 2 cars a week.
